Top 5 Anime that could use a reboot

Soul Eater

Sometimes our favorite anime gets cut short, orr even worse, our favorite manga gets an anime adaptation only for it to be awful!

When that happens as a fan you can’t help but feel a little betrayed to some degree right? But sometimes your cry will be heard and an anime will get a second chance at life.

Here are 5 anime that could use a reboot.

1. Claymore

Claymore was an awesome action fantasy anime where humanity is plagued by monsters called Yoma, and Clare, our protagonist, is part of a group of half-Yoma half-human hunters tasked with killing them.

The series began as a dark and thrilling ride with an engaging story that unfortunately came to a not-so-satisfying and abrupt ending. A reboot would allow for a longer run time giving the story more breathing room to carve its ending out.

2. Soul Eater

Atsushi Okubo of Fire Force’s previous anime, Soul Eater was a stylish and quirky shonen with sweet action and charming characters.

Like our previous entry, Soul Eater suffered from an abrupt ending that resulted in an unfinished story lacking much of the character development for both the main and supporting characters.

Starting fresh with a new soul eater is anime reboot just what it would need to finish its story and capitalize on all of its cool and interesting side characters by being closer to the manga.

3. Pokemon

The Pokemon franchise is one that has worn many hats and has even had multiple different anime runs.

Most of which are soft reboots themselves, but I think the franchise would do better with a more concrete reboot that either builds upon the manga or establishes a new character’s journey to follow.

4. Ghost Stories

Let me begin with this caveat; I do not mean the original Japanese airing of Ghost Stories. I’m talking about the cult-classic ADV Films English dub.

This unusual and hilarious dub was nothing like the original as ADV films wrote tons of jokes and had the actors ad-lib many lines.

This formula was fresh and effective at the time and there is plenty of different anime that could use a reboot in a more humorous and developed style a la Team Fourstar’s DBZ Abridged.

5. Rave Master

Rave Master may have appeared to be a typical shonen anime on the surface but was such a joyful and impactful experience for many who watched it. The Rave Master anime was pretty consistent with the manga as far as the story went, however, the fights were not translated very well from the page and came off as a little stiff.

The Anime was also unfinished as it ended after 2 seasons, well before the manga. With the success of Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail, Rave Master would have excellent reception and finally, bring its story to a conclusion on screen with an anime reboot.

Hopefully with the reboots of anime franchises such as Digimon Adventures or Shaman King we can see more of our favorites getting a second wind!
