Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #1 Review – Oh, it’s very real

Although it seemed like a possible joke at first it actually makes sense for a Batman crossover with Fortnite, at least for Batman to be in Fortnite. Things like Batman being in Fortnite are not something new or strange, not anymore at least. Fortnite being in Batman’s comic domain is not to be expected however but here we are at Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point. With this incredible interesting concept, we had to get our hands on these issues and with that, here’s our review of Zero Point #1.

DISCLAIMER: This article may contain spoilers for Batman/Fortnite Zero Point #1.

Zero Point will comprise of 6 issues total between April 20th as a first release and July as the final issues with 4 issues in between with 2 arriving in may and another 2 coming in June.

Batman/Fortnite Zero Point Goodies

If you’re not a comic reader or just don’t really want to go through the hassle of getting a physical comic, then we have news for you. DC offers a digital subscription service for those that want to view the comic this way.

You may be asking yourself, even as an avid Fortnite fan, “Why would I want this?” Well, every issue comes with a code for something in Fortnite such as a glider, a skin, or possibly more and redeeming all 6 codes will give you the Armored Batman Skin.

It hasn’t been confirmed by Epic Games exactly what besides Armored Batman and the Rebirth Harley Quinn outfit are coming yet but we’ll find out soon enough with 2 more issues releasing next month.

For the real collectors out there that are actually looking forward to getting the physical comics, there are several variants to collect from each release. Expect original covers as well as variants from Jim Lee for Zero Point #3 and variants from Epic Games Chief Creative Officer Donald Mustard.

Batman and the Zero Point

So while we know Batman is for certain on the Fortnite Island and will encounter plenty of characters from the game’s own universe but what we don’t know and will have to read to find out is: Why? Why is Batman on the Fortnite Island and how did he get here?

Batman himself doesn’t have the answers but it wouldn’t be a true Batman comic if it wasn’t for the World’s Greatest Detective doing some actual digging and detective work. It appears this time he may have to remember who he is first before he can start to solve this mystery.

The World’s Greatest Detective, in classic fashion, is going to be falling even deeper into more mysteries as well as dealing with the continuous questions that the Fortnite Island itself presents.

Although short, this was only an introduction to this unique Batman/Fortnite crossover and future issues are sure to be at least a few pages longer each.

Overall, as a fan of Fortnite and Batman as well as just DC Comics properties in general I think this is a must-read and fun adventure that I’m excited to see where it goes and hoping that it doesn’t get too outrageous. I have to say though, especially compared to the dark storylines we’ve seen Batman comics encounter in the last 10 years, this is a fresh light to see Batman in and I’m excited for more.

While we only see Harley Quinn and Catwoman as DC characters, besides Batman. In this issue, Catwoman being the only one from Gotham Batman has encountered, she seems to be suffering the same confusions as Batman. So with that get prepared for plenty of faces from DC, and Gotham City in particular.

Personally, I want anything Deathstroke or Nightwing but I think something Deathstroke such as an Outfit or Glider is more likely. As much as I’d love to receive almost exclusively Outfits from these codes, I think we’ve going to be getting an assortment of Batman/Fortnite Zero Point items from this crossover.
