Damwon Kia Stays Undefeated

Coming out of the group stage with an undefeated record, Damwon continued their win streak against MAD Lions. Although the second and third games were closer than any of the games that Damwon played during the Group Stage, they pulled through every time.

Damwon had better team fighting, movement around the map, and always stayed level-headed when MAD Lions showed signs of life. The only other team that went undefeated on their way was T1 during their run of three World Championships.

One player that stood out from Damwon during this series was their jungler, Barrel. On the playmaker Lee Sin every game, he just never seemed to die during team fights.

Taking objectives, finding the right kicks to send the carries of MAD Lions into the rest of his team, and setting up dives against for his lanes, he was all over the map. Damwon as a team all together though looks better than any other team left as of right now in the Quarterfinals.

The West Has Fallen

Despite playing well in the last two games of the series, MAD Lions fell to Damwon Kia without taking a game off of them. The only team from Europe that made it out of the Group Stage had chances to take at least one game.

Despite games two and three having abysmal score lines for the European team, the games were a lot closer than one would expect. This was thanks to the rookie jungler, Elyoya, who had played very well in the second game of the series.

In game two alone, he had a 95% kill participation before fifteen minutes, and a gold difference of over 1000 at fifteen minutes.

The last day of the 2021 League of Legends World Championship Quarterfinals is tomorrow, October 25th. The final hope for the west, Cloud9, will go against the LCK third seed, Gen.G, for the final spot in the Semifinals, and who will play against Edward Gaming. Game one starts at 5 AM PST/ 8 AM EST/ 1 PM BST. You can watch this last chance for the west at LoLEsports.com.
