Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is almost over, but it didn’t stop Epic Games from releasing the new 15.50 update.

Patch Notes

Epic Games no longer releases official patch notes, instead, we need to rely on the community for answers. There are some things posted to the Fortnite Trello Board which act as mini patch notes.

Here is what was fixed in the Fortnite 15.50 update according to the Trello Board.

Battle Royale

  • Split Screen “Ready Up!” issue.
  • Snowy Floppers do not grant Shield or Icy Feet.
  • Cars not always dealing damage on impact.
  • Rift Fish and Jellyfish temporarily disabled.
  • Total Bars appearing as 0 when loading into a match with high latency.

Save the World

  • The Val Defender doesn’t have perks when unlocked from the Valor Questline

Mobile

  • Cannot start or switch to Creative Mode.

Family Guy Skins

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 has been all about Hunters, which is just a way to make Season 5 into a massive advert and spin it into a story arc.

After the release of the Ryu and Chun-Li skins, some new images appeared that showed images from Family Guy. Now more images have been added as well as a portal called “SmallFry”.

One of the in-game files was called FrenchFry, likely referring to the classic Family Guy scene where Peter works in a fast food restaurant.

Lucas7Yoshi thinks that Family Guy skins are “inevitable”.

Leaked Skins

There are only a few new leaked items with the 15.50 update. This is understandable due to Season 6 being the next update, it is likely that Epic Games is keeping back most of the content for next season.

Rapid Fire SMG Returns

The Hand Cannon has been vaulted, having been back in the game for one week.

Now the Rapid Fire SMG has been unvaulted, giving players the chance to use it for a week.

Bodyguard LTM

A new LTM has been added called Bodyguard. In it, players need to defend the VIP target and prevent them from being eliminated.

Here is the official information about the upcoming LTM.

“Suit up, it’s time to protect the VIP! In Bodyguard, each squad has a VIP. Everyone else is a bodyguard sworn to defend them. If a squad’s VIP is eliminated then the whole squad is out. VIPs are vulnerable. They’re marked to all enemies and can’t pick up weapons. But, they aren’t helpless either. VIPs spawn with a Legendary pistol and a rechargeable Revive Grenade.”

End Of Season Event

Each season concludes with an end of season event, this sees the story arc for that season come together to kickstart the new season.

With Agent Jonesy bringing all of the Hunters to the Fortnite universe throughout the season, we can expect a huge event.

The first details of the end of season event have started to emerge, and it looks to be focused around the Zero Points.

New audio files have been found which confirm it is destabilising.

There is also a new loading screen which shows the Battle Bus in front of the sun, or something that has exploded, while fire rains down as the Fortnite characters glide away. Could this be hinting at what to expect from the event?
