Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 is here and it has changed the way we play Fortnite with the new crafting system.
As with every season, new challenges arrived with it. Here is how to complete Craft Mechanical weapons using mechanical parts and a makeshift weapon from the Season 6 Week 1 challenges.
Craft Mechanical weapons using mechanical parts and a makeshift weapon
Crafting is a new feature to Fortnite Season 6. By collecting either Bones or Mechanical Parts players can craft more powerful weapons from Makeshift weapons.
To complete this, players need to craft Mechanical weapons using Mechanical Parts.
They can be found by harvesting various vehicles and trailers across the map. These can range from driveable cars to buses, RVs, tractors and trailers.
To craft a Mechanical weapon from a Makeshift weapon, players need to find four Mechanical Parts. Most vehicles drop one Mechanical Part, but driveable cars can drop up to four.
Craft three Mechanical weapons and the challenge will complete.
Week 1 Epic Quests
Here are the Week 1 Epic Quests.
The challenges this week are:
- Hunt Wildlife (5)
- Craft Primal weapons using bones and makeshift weapons (3)
- Craft a Hunter’s Cloak (1)
- Talk to characters (3)
- Collect mechanical parts from vehicles, trailers, buses, or tractors (5)
- Craft Mechanical weapons using mechanical parts and a makeshift weapon (3)
- Find golden artifacts near The Spire (3)
Each Epic Quest is worth 24,000 XP, granting 168,000 XP in total, around 2 levels worth of XP.

Week 1 Legendary Quests
Here are the Week 1 Legendary Quests.
The Legendary Quest this week is:
The first stage of the challenge is worth 35,000 XP, the following 4 are worth 24,500 XP each, giving a total of 140,000 XP for completing the Legendary Quest.

But be fast, Legendary Quests are only around until the next set of challenges go live and then they are gone forever.
