Therian forme Tornadus is following the lead of Therian Thundurus and will be added to Pokemon Go at the end of this month.
As expected since Therian forme Thundurus’ release, we seem to be getting all three Therian Formes of the forces of nature.
When will Therian Tornadus be added?
Therian forme Tornadus is expected to released into Pokemon Go tier-5 Raids on March 30th, at 10:00 AM local time.
We don’t currently know how long he’ll be around for, but it’s likely to be at least a week – and fairly likely to be 2 weeks in total to match the amount of time Therian Thundurus is currently getting.
It’s worth using Leekduck to check on upcoming events like these if you’re invested in them, as Leekduck often collates information into easily consumable shorthand forms.

What Moves can Therian Tornadus know?
As far as we currently know, the typing and moves of Therian Tornadus in tier-5 raids should be similar if not identical to his incarnate forme already in Pokemon Go.
Don’t be shocked if he gets a new move or two, but otherwise don’t expect much difference from usual.
Fast Attacks:
- Air Slash
- Bite
Charged Attacks:
- Dark Pulse
- Grass Knot
- Hurricane
- Hyper Beam

What types will be effective for fighting him?
As stated before, his typing will likely be entirely unchanged from single type Flying, and unlike Thundurus, he doesn’t have any other types to cover his flying weaknesses.
Super-effective types to prioritise using:
- Electric
- Ice
- Rock
Making Zapdos and Articuno both excellent choices that were available recently. Otherwise strong electric types such as Magneton or Alolan Golem and easily accessible ice types like Glaceon are well suited to exploit these weaknesses
Resisted types to avoid using:
- Bug
- Fighting
- Grass
- Ground

Will the shiny form be available?
Similar to Therian Thundurus, it seems that Therian Forme Tornadus will not be released alongside his shiny form, meaning it shouldn’t be available to players.
It’s possible it’s being reserved for a future event alongside the other Therian shiny variants.
That’s about everything you’ll need to know about the upcoming release of Therian forme Tornadus, best of luck capturing it trainers!
