Is Rambo actually coming to Call of Duty Warzone & BOCW?

It is, quite literally, a bit massive. It looks like John Rambo is going to trade in the Mortal Kombat Tournament for The Gulag and make his way to Call of Duty Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. Here’s what we know about this crazy rumour so far and whether it’s a rumour at all.

LATEST – Yes. Yes He F*cking Is

As it turns out, it isn’t a rumour and John Rambo is bringing his signature murderous style to Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.

Call of Duty has just tweeted out a small teaser regarding a new mid-season event coming on May 20th that clearly showcases Rambo. Well, not clearly but… It looks a lot like him.

Expect to hear more about this over the next week. It’s time to become war and become Rambo.

Is John Rambo Coming To Call of Duty Warzone?

We really can’t believe this might actually be a thing, but Call of Duty has been teasing something a little bit unusual with their Twitter account and it looks like we could be seeing John Rambo make his way to Warzone and Black Ops Cold War in the future.

What?

Firstly, Call of Duty tweeted this #WarzoneReport out of nowhere:

We’ll run through the references and what they mean in terms of Rambo:

  • 5 Games Played > 5 Main Rambo Movies
  • 7 Hours Played > Runtime of all 5 Rambo Movies (just about)
  • 552 Kills > How many bods Rambo has killed in all his movies
  • 0 Deaths > Rambo is not dead yet?
  • Infinite K/D > Supposedly it can’t be confirmed as it would be 552/0

If you look at the fact that the name is also “SURVIVORJOHN#1009062”, it seems almost too obivous that they’re referring to Rambo.

If that wasn’t enough, though, there’s also this. Call of Duty is following a bunch of Trautmans for some reason. We’re guessing following people called Rambo would be too obvious? Could the number 15 be a sign that the Rambo collab will drop on the 15th? Or maybe it will be revealed on the 15th? Who knows, really. It’s all a little bit out of nowhere.

Wouldn’t Be The First Collaboration

Activision aren’t exactly Epic Games and Warzone isn’t exactly Fortnite, but the latter entries in the Call of Duty franchise aren’t complete strangers to external collaborations. We’re specifying the fact that we’re talking about external collaborations because Call of Duty loves inter-series crossovers. (I mean, Captain Price in Black Ops Cold War? Come on, man.)

Anyway, last Spooky Season, we saw both Jigsaw and Leatherface make an appearance as Legendary Operator skins in Warzone. We’re not sure why they gave Morte the Jigsaw skin, but that’s beside the point. The point is… Call of Duty has done this before so maybe seeing John Rambo in Call of Duty isn’t that outrageous. However, this would most likely be a completely new Operator as opposed to an Operator Skin.

Let’s be honest, we can’t really see someone trying to impersonate him… Who would you even go with? Adler, surely. We don’t want to see Baker butcher that.

He is an action hero, so it isn’t completely unrealistic that Adler wouldn’t cross paths with the man. Rambo: First Blood came out in 1982 and Black Ops Cold War takes place, for the most part, in 1984. This means we could be getting prime Rambo and probably a Legendary M60 Weapon Blueprint. It could be worse, right?
