Warzone: How to turn OFF Crossplay & Avoid PC Players

If you play Warzone on a console, you’re going to know the pains of playing against someone on PC. No matter how good you get, there are just certain benefits to playing Call of Duty on a PC with a keyboard and mouse that you don’t get with a controller. Thankfully, there’s a way to avoid matchmaking against these players and you can actually turn Crossplay off on Warzone. Here’s how.

How to turn Crossplay OFF on Warzone

There are a few steps you need to take to disable Crossplay on Warzone on your Xbox One or PlayStation 4 (Warzone is currently available via Backwards Compatibility on Xbox Series X|S and PS5, too!) This will also work on the PC version of Warzone, but we can’t imagine many “keyboard and mouse” players will care much about whether they’re matching up with console players.

Firstly, you need to log into Warzone on your chosen platform. From here, you need to head to the Options Menu.

Once you’re here, you need to head to the “Account” tab and head down to the “Crossplay” section of this listing. From here, it’s a simple switch between “Enabled” and “Disabled”. You shouldn’t even need to restart your game when you do this!

If everything’s gone according to plan, you should now only matchmake with players on the same platform family as you. This means, if you play on PS5 via Backwards Compatibility, you should still match up with PS4 players and vice versa. If you’re worried about hackers, this might be your best bet. Raven Software is trying, but they’re taking a long time to sort out a proper Anti-Cheat for Warzone on PC.

It’s also worth noting that this will slow down your matchmaking times slightly. However, the popularity of Warzone should mean it never becomes an actual problem.
