Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 is here and it has changed the way we play Fortnite with the new crafting system.
As with every season, new challenges arrived with it. Here is how to complete Craft Mechanical weapons using mechanical parts and a makeshift weapon from the Season 6 Week 1 challenges.
Craft items
Crafting is a new mechanic to come to Chapter 2 Season 6. This is done by collecting Bones and Mechanical Parts from Wildlife and vehicles.
To complete this, players need to have any Makeshift weapon in their inventory and then either four Bones or Mechanical Parts, depending on if you want a Primal or Mechanical weapon.
As this is a Legendary Quest, it is a five part challenge that requires a total of 15 items to be crafted.
But, with crafting being a focal point of the season, this shouldn’t take too long,. Be quick though, the Legendary Quest is only available for one week and then it will disappear.
Week 1 Epic Quests
Here are the Week 1 Epic Quests.
The challenges this week are:
- Hunt Wildlife (5)
- Craft Primal weapons using bones and makeshift weapons (3)
- Craft a Hunter’s Cloak (1)
- Talk to characters (3)
- Collect mechanical parts from vehicles, trailers, buses, or tractors (5)
- Craft Mechanical weapons using mechanical parts and a makeshift weapon (3)
- Find golden artifacts near The Spire (3)
Each Epic Quest is worth 24,000 XP, granting 168,000 XP in total, around 2 levels worth of XP.

Week 1 Legendary Quests
Here are the Week 1 Legendary Quests.
The Legendary Quest this week is:
The first stage of the challenge is worth 35,000 XP, the following 4 are worth 24,500 XP each, giving a total of 140,000 XP for completing the Legendary Quest.

But be fast, Legendary Quests are only around until the next set of challenges go live and then they are gone forever.
