Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is just a week from ending, with Season 6 right around the corner, with the Zero Crisis Finale event announced earlier this week.
But before it ends, there is still one week worth of challenges still to complete to get the last few levels for the Battle Pass.
Here is how to complete Upgrade a weapon from the Week 15 challenges.
Upgrade a weapon
Upgrading weapons is a new mechanic in Chapter 2. This allows players to gain stronger weapons. Until Season 5 this could be done at specific Upgrade Benches dotted around the map, but this season the mechanic was overhauled.
In Season 5 the Gold Bars were introduced, a new currency that is collected and can be used to upgrade weapons, amongst other things.
To complete this, players need to talk to one of the NPCs around the map that offer weapon upgrades.
Here is a map of all of the current NPCs that allow players to upgrade weapons.
Release Date
Fortnite challenges go live every Thursday at 9am EST/2pm GMT, so expect the week 15 challenges to go live on March 11th at 9am EST/2pm GMT.
Week 15 Epic Quests
The challenges this week are:
- Distance travelled through sand (500)
- Spend 5 seconds within 20 meters of enemies while sand tunnelling (5)
- Spend Bars (500)
- Purchase Item from a Character (1)
- Upgrade a weapon (1)
- Get Intel from a Character (1)
- Hire a Character (1)
Each Epic Quest is worth 40,000 XP, granting 280,000 XP in total, around 3 levels worth of XP.

Week 15 Legendary Quest
The Legendary Quest this week is:
- Duel Characters (5/10/15/20/25)
The first stage of the challenge is worth 55,000 XP, the following 4 are worth 22,000 XP each, giving a total of 143,000 XP for completing the Legendary Quest.
But be fast, Legendary Quests are only around until the next set of challenges go live and then they are gone forever.
