Can you enable 120 Fps for Genshin Impact on PC?

The 2.2 update for Genshin Impact, which is already available on both PC and mobile platforms, brought us a new function that allows us to play it with 120 FPS. Players previously only had the option to go up to 60 FPS, even if your playing device could theoretically go even higher.

The function was noticed in the App Store, but it didn’t specify how you can enable this higher-resolution mode for the game, or where it’s available. We’ll answer those questions right now!

Is 120 FPS available for Genshin Impact on PC?

Currently, the function is only available for some specific Apple devices, and there are no current announcements for enabling 120 FPS for other ports. You are locked into either 30 or 60 max FPS while playing on PC or Console.

But there’s no need to lose hope. Honkai Impact 3rd, another popular title by miHoYo, already has a 120 FPS option available on its PC version, so it may be a question of time until Genshin receives the same treatment.

How to enable 120 FPS in game

First, be aware that 120 FPS are only available on Apple products equipped with ProMotion screens. Namely, you can enable it on iPhone 13 Pro and iPad Pro.

If you play on one of those devices, open the Paimon menu and go to Settings > Graphics > FPS, and set it to 120. Easy and simple.

Since you’re running the game at a much higher resolution, expect your battery to be drained faster than before. But the graphics should be good, so don’t mind about that.

Genshin Impact is currently on its 2.2 version, “Into the Perilous Labyrinth of Fog”, which introduces a whole new area to explore, as well as new enemies, weapons, events and the return of previously limited characters and gadgets.

You can play the game for free on mobile devices including Android, iOS, Playstation 4, Playstation 5 and Pc on both miHoYo’s official launcher and Epic Games Store. A Nintendo Switch version is stated to be in development.
