The popular database for every single piece of information you can imagine for Genshin Impact, Honey Impact, is being now taken down by miHoYo. This is a follow-up to their recent crackdown on leakers.

After many other leakers have already retired from giving us first-hand news about future updates, Honey has announced in his personal Twitter account that the website will be gone for good.

Why is Honey Impact being taken down?

The database uses assets and information belonging to miHoYo, as stated in the disclaimer. But some of this information includes data from the Closed Beta versions, which are strictly forbidden for sharing.

Alongside Twitter posts, Honey Hunter was a giant hub for leaks and future events for Genshin Impact. Since all of these intellectual proprieties belong to miHoYo, they have the legal right for stopping them from freely spreading their beta information.

Honey made a post, which you can read here, explaining the situation and the messages sent by miHoYo, which demanded the closure of the site. Cloudflare was also notified with a DMCA copyright infringement complaint since they provided DNS services for Honey Impact.

Honey also owns the Honey Hunter World website, which works in a similar fashion for Monster Hunter World. It serves both as a database and guides hub for the Capcom game, and it never experienced a similar situation.

The Wangsheng Funeral Parlor discord server also announced that they’ll temporarily stop their leaks announcements, following Honey Impact being taken down. This could mean that Genshin leaks, which were almost a regular part of the community, will start to slow down a lot.
