Genshin Impact: New quest reveals Dainsleif’s past

A new main story chapter arrived on Genshin Impact, bringing some groundbreaking revelations about Teyvat, the Abyss Order, and Dainsleif.

The chapter, which is called ”Chapter I: Act IV – We Will Be Reunited”, brings the Traveller to the center of one of the grand schemes of the Abyss Order, where they learn about the history and downfall of the lost civilization of Khaenri’ah, and its connection with the mysterious Dainsleif, and the Order.

The Tragic Tale of Khaenri’ah

A Kingdom Without God’s, and once a symbol of humanity’s resolve and unrivaled potential, the kingdom of Khaenri’ah stood tall as humanity’s biggest pride, until, 500 years ago, it was destroyed by the gods.

According to their leader, the abyss order is composed by the people of the kingdom.

If we take the trailer of the game as evidence, the otherworldly elements that can be seen in the destroyed nation, as is engulfed in flames, match those of the Unknown God, the being responsible for the Traveller’s fall into Teyvat.

The kingdom will be the main stage of one of Teyvat’s final acts, ”The Dream Yet to be Dreamed”.

Dainsleif: The Twilight Sword

In the Quest, is revealed that Dainsleif, was born and lived in Khaenri’ah, becoming one of its guardians, under the title of Twilight Sword.

After failing to protect its people, he was cursed to live eternally and forced to watch as those he sworn to protect become monsters.

After the end of the quest, Dan’s whereabouts are unknown, since he manege to follow the leader of the Order, and Herald in their escape through the mysterious dark portal.

Genshin Impact is currently available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, via backward compatibility, mobile devices – Android, and iOS – and PC, via miHoYo’s official launcher.

A version of the title for the PlayStation 5 is coming later this year, featuring improved graphics, framerate, and faster loading times. A version for the Nintendo Switch is also in development.
