GTA 5’s development started in 2008. At the time of launch, it was available only on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Later it made its way to PC. Gradually, it made its way to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and recently at Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

There are 2 ways you can play it on android. You can choose between these two based on the requirements.

  • Using steam link: In this process, you need to have the game owned at steam.
  • Using Xbox pass: In this process, you need to have Xbox pass subscribed. You can play GTA V on android in this way without a PC.

How To Play GTA 5 On An Android Device

Method-1: Using steam link.
Requirements: A PC, GTA V purchased on steam, a reliable broadband speed.

Steps:
1) Download and sign in to Steam on your desktop PC.
2) Download the Steam Link from the Google Play store on your Android device.
3) Launch the app and you should be greeted with the setup screen. Tap on Get Started.
4) If you have a Steam controller or a third-party controller to use with your Android device, it can be paired with your phone or tablet. If not, you can play using touch controls. Tap on Use touch control to move forward if you don’t have a paired controller.
5) The app will scan available PCs running Steam and your PC should show up here.
6) Tap on it and the app will show you a four-digit PIN that will have to be entered on your desktop Steam client.
7) Enter the PIN on the pop-up that you get on the Steam desktop client and hit OK.
8) The Steam Link app will now connect to your desktop client and run a network test. Once done, tap OK.
9) On the next screen, you should see a green checkmark against your PC name as well as a green checkmark against Touch Controller.
10) On this screen, tap on Start Playing.
11) Steam Link app will give you remote access to your Steam desktop client with a D-pad and four buttons to navigate. Here you can browse all the games you own on Steam. By default, it shows you the games that are Remote Play Optimised.
12) Search for GTA V and hit A. On the next screen select Play with the A button.
13) There you go. Now you should be able to play it on your android device.

Method-2: Using Xbox pass.
Requirements: An active Xbox pass subscription, a reliable broadband speed.

Steps:
1) Download the Xbox Game Pass from the Google Play store. 
2) You will be asked to sign in to the app. Use the same credentials you used for the Xbox Game Pass subscription. 
3) On the home screen, make sure you are on the Cloud tab. 
4) Search for GTA V and tap on Play. 
5) And here you go. Now you should be able to play it.
