Will GTA 6 be a PS5 exclusive?

It has been over 7 years since the release of GTA 5, with the game first releasing back in 2013. Despite this, Rockstar hasn’t even officially announced GTA 6 yet, but we do know its in active development right now.

So as we look towards GTA 6, will it be a PS5 exclusive?

GTA 5 first launched back in 2013 on PS3 and Xbox 360, before later coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

In November 2020 we saw the release of the next-generations of consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as the launch of the latest GPUs, the Nvidia RTX 30 series and AMD’s RX 6000 series.

At some point in 2021 we can expect to see a next-gen port of GTA V, further enhancing the game.

This version was revealed during a PS5 event, leaving gamers to wonder whether this port will be a PS5 exclusive. It was later revealed that the game would be coming to Xbox Series X|S too.

It seems very unlikely that the game would be a PS5 exclusive, despite Rockstar’s great relationship with Sony. There would be too much money left on the table by not releasing on Xbox or PC, so we’re going to go ahead and say it will be multi-platform.

GTA 6 is currently rumoured to be releasing in late 2023, so still quite a while yet, and is expected to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
