According to a supposed developer, the Halo Infinite campaign is under stress ahead of the game’s release.

343 Industries revealed that Halo Infinite would not be getting a Co-op campaign or Forge upon release.

Understandably Halo fans across the world were upset by the news. The co-op will instead be coming to the game with season 2 while Forge is set to arrive with season 3.

To calm angry fans, a supposed 343 industries dev took to Reddit to shine a light on what’s going on.

Here is what we know about the Halo Infinite campaign stress.

A Redditor, ‘Quiet_Content’. Who claims to have worked for 343 Industries on campaign components for Halo Infinite “for the better part of 2 years” posted on r/Halo to ease frustration amongst fans.

They explain that since the departure of Chris Lee in April, campaign components had to go through huge changes, describing it as a “MASSIVE strain”. However, they did say that multiplayer should be ready for the release with new maps, all the main modes, extra grab bag goodies and more.

Indeed, 343 industries have had to adjust to the direction of Joseph Staten which means they needed to cut content and go through massive reworks. Thus the Halo Infinite campaign stress continues.

Forge mode delay.

The supposed developer then went onto the topic of Forge. They explain that Forge is not just a “cute map editor anymore”, the quality and standard for Forge are higher than anyone realized rendering it untenable for the game’s initial release.

They clarify that Forge won’t be ready for six months after release, however, it is more likely that it will be released 8 months to a year later. Explaining that the team is “overworked, pushed hard and tired.”.

Co-op campaign delay.

Moreover, the Co-op campaign has encountered some problems as well. The overarching problem is how Co-op is supposed to work in the open-world environment Halo Infinite is proposing. The anonymous developer goes on to explain that now it is an unplayable mess, and they are still working it out.

They even thought about delaying the campaign altogether and eventually releasing the game with only multiplayer.

It’s important to bear in mind that it is impossible to tell if ‘Quiet_Content’ is an actual 343 Industries developer, so the claims about the Halo Infinite stress may be untrue.

That all we know so far about the Halo Infinite campaign stress. It is looking likely we will be getting the campaign on release let’s hope that it isn’t filled with bugs. You can always check out more Halo news here.
