Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 former developer hired by Riot

Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, a former developer for big titles like Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, was recently hired by Riot Games to work on their upcoming MMO title. The announcement was made through Tomaszkiewicz social media.

After many rumors about this possibility, Riot has confirmed last year that an MMORPG based on the League of Legends universe is actually in the making. The team is currently hiring talented individuals, and Tomaszkiewicz is their newest addition to the team.

Greg ‘Ghostcrawler’ Street, who first announced through his own media that the new Riot title was in the making, expressed his excitement for this particular developer (Mateusz) being hired by Riot.

Tomaszkiewicz is a veteran from CD Projekt Red, working on many titles from The Witcher game series and their most recent game Cyberpunk 2077. As a quest designer, he was directly involved in the creation of some of those games’ most memorable quests, like Through Space and Time in The Witcher 3.

Riot Games ensures that its titles are always delivered in the highest quality possible, giving some good attention to details and striving for the game experience to be enjoyable. Except, of course, when we’re talking about game balancing, but that’s another story.

The point is that their future MMO has the potential to be one of their most successful titles yet. With a new big developer being hired for the team, we may see Riot becoming a new competitor to the biggest names on MMOs, which currently are Final Fantasy XIV and World of Warcraft (even with all the recent controversies on the company).

Riot Games is responsible for big titles like League of Legends, Valorant, Teamfight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra, which are all free to play. Currently, there’s no release date for their confirmed MMO title. A new series distributed by Netflix, Arcane, is soon to be released.
