Red Dead Online Heists and Crime Missions coming this Summer
Howdy there, Mistah! It looks like heists might be coming to Red Dead Online in the summer and it’s about damned time Rockstar gave Red Dead Online the content it deserves. We know GTA Online has more scope, but there’s a lot that Red Dead Online could be doing. Here’s everything we know about the latest news update from Rockstar Games.
Red Dead Online Heists?
Red Dead Online is getting some love this Summer and Rockstar Games has shared details about the first of several updates coming to the title over the next couple of months.
Firstly, Red Dead Online is getting eight new Races on May 25th. These will span “iconic locations across the five states – from the arid frontier outpost of Gaptooth Breach to the mining town of Annesburg” and will be available in a number of Race modes.
There are Standard and Open Races, which will either follow the traditional checkpoint format or an open-ended series of checkpoints. Then, there’s going to be both of these with the “Target” variance. This will require you to shoot targets with a bow, rather than just ride through checkpoints.

However, what about the heists that could be coming to Red Dead Online? Well… We don’t know when these might drop but Rockstar did share this teaser…
” Down in Saint-Denis, Angelo Bronte’s trusted lieutenant, Guido Martelli is working to create his own criminal network, so whether it’s intimidation, unsavoury crimes, or larger, high-stakes robberies — riders best be willing to do whatever it takes to earn their blood money.”
Blood money? High-stakes robberies? Unsavoury crimes? It all sounds right up our alley!
Rockstar’s Summer Updates
As we said before, we don’t really know when this update is due to drop but we’re expecting it to arrive at some point in early July. We are hoping for sooner, of course, but Rockstar isn’t usually in the habit of throwing out updates that frequently. Especially for Red Dead Online.
That statement, as painful as it is to admit, is reflected in Rockstar’s latest content update Newswire article.
GTA Online is getting three major Summer updates in the next few months (Deadline, Stunt Racing, and Survival) and there’s also been news regarding the Enhanced and Expanded version of Grand Theft Auto V.

GTA V and GTA Online will both arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 11th, 2021. There’s no news of a Red Dead Redemption remaster yet, but the heists on Red Dead Online are a good start.
