The Pokemon Company has held its first Pokemon Presents event of 2021, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Pokemon series.

During the Pokemon Presents event, we finally got official confirmation of the Gen 4 remakes, which will be called Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Gen 4 Remakes Announced

It has been officially announced that the Pokemon Gen 4 remakes will be happening. These remakes of Diamond and Pearl will be called Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

These remakes remain faithful to the original games, keeping the top down style and grid based movement of the original games, much like Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Despite releasing on Nintendo Switch, these games look and play like a DS game, as opposed to the more recent Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are games that many Pokemon fans old dear, and many were worried that the games would be remade as Let’s Go games, not that it’d necessarily be a bad thing.

But keeping the games more faithful to the originals is definitely a move that will please a lot of Pokemon fans.

Release Date

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will release worldwide in late 2021.

Notorious industry insider, Twitter user Wario64, tweeted the following with a link to New Pokemon Snap on Target’s website:

Yep, that’s right! New Pokemon Snap comes with an exclusive magnetic photo frame if you preorder it from Target.

This is the first preorder bonus we’ve seen for the upcoming Pokemon photography game and there’s no word as to whether this is unique just to Target, or if that’s a region-specific exclusivity deal.
