New Valheim Texture Pack mod out now; 4K & 8K textures included

If there’s one thing that might put you off of playing Valheim, it’s the poor graphics. The base game, frankly, doesn’t look too impressive. Thankfully, modders have been hard at work and there’s a new Valheim HD Texture Pack mod that offers some 4K AND 8K textures. Here’s everything we know about it…

New Valheim Texture Pack Mod?

Willybach, a notable modder already-known for his Valheim modding, has released a new version of his HD Texture Pack for Valheim that offers both 4K and 6K support, to come extent.

There are currently four versions of Willybach’s HD Valheim mods that offer varying levels of quality to cater the Texture Pack to a variety of systems. The way it works is that Willybach uses AI techniques to overhaul the vanilla textures Valheim has to offer. It’s an upscaling technique, as opposed to a new Texture Pack. This means Valheim should still feel like Valheim while you’re playing; Everything will just look a little crisper.

The mod currently covers most of the available Biomes and almost all of the Building textures. Willybach will continue to update it with creatures, animals, weapons, and armour in the future. It’s definitely worth keeping an eye on it.
