Guardians of the Galaxy: Drax abilities guide

GOTG Drax

Guardians of the Galaxy has a great team of playable characters including Drax, the Destroyer. Guardians of the Galaxy gives Drax some pretty powerful abilities, and here’s what you need to know about them.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Drax abilities

Destroy

Drax hits a single enemy with a powerful attack, dealing Light Damage and Heavy Stagger.

  • Target: 1/4
  • Stagger: 3/4
  • Damage: 2/4
  • Cooldown: 2/4

This ability definitely screams classic Drax. It’s basically just a flurry of heavy-hitting knife attacks and then a dropkick. What’s more Drax than that?

Katathian Charge

Drax charges forward, dealing Moderate Stagger to all enemies in a line.

  • Target: 2/4
  • Stagger: 2/4
  • Damage: 1/4
  • Cooldown: 1/4

Okay, so maybe it can get a bit more “Drax-y.” Drax’s “Katathian Charge” ability just full sends him through a line of enemies and knocks them all down like bowling pins. It can’t possibly get any more Drax than this, can it?

Pound and Pummel

Drax shatters the ground, dealing Moderate Damage to one enemy and Light Damage to nearby enemies.

  • Target: 2/4
  • Stagger: 1/4
  • Damage: 3/4
  • Cooldown: 3/4

Okay, it looks like I was wrong again. Drax literally pulls a Gibby (from iCarly) and hops in from just slightly off-screen and slams into the ground. I do think the only thing that could fit Drax more is if he bellyflopped onto the ground too.

Mega ability: Wrath of Katath

After certain events in the story(which are some pretty massive spoilers), you’ll unlock Drax’s mega ability called “Wrath of Katath.” This ability allows Drax to deal Moderate Damage and Heavy Stagger to a single enemy and Moderate Stagger to all nearby enemies when enraged. He also deals more Stagger while raging.
