Monster Hunter Rise: How to find Golden Muck

With the worldwide release of Monster Hunter Rise players are scrambling to get their hands on materials and gear, and we’re here to tell you how to get yours on Golden Muck specifically.

Golden Muck is a Low Rank crafting material required to make parts of the Almudron armor set. as well as a variety of weapons. The material is described in the game as follows.

“Mud mixed with Almudron mucus. Prized for its viscosity and sumptuous hue.”

The material can be tricky to find, as it is only available while fighting certain monsters.

Golden Muck is most commonly found while fighting Almudron, the Hermit of the Swamp, which starts appearing in the 6* village quests. The monster can be fought in Shrine Ruins, Flooded Forest, and Sandy Plains. While fighting the monster, Golden Muck can be collected as Almudron Material that drops on the floor and can be collected.

Golden Muck drop rate is as follows.

Target Rewards (x1) – 22%
Capture Rewards (x2) – 13%
Dropped Material (x1) – 30%
Dropped Material (x2) – 25%

Keep in mind that Golden Muck is only available as a Low Rank material. The High Rank equivalent of the same material is Golden Sludge, which is not interchangeable with its Low Rank counterpart. So make sure you grind out your Golden Muck in Low Rank before progressing to High Rank.

Golden Muck can also be randomly dropped by other monsters that share a locale with Almudron. It is a very aggressive monster, so turf wars with other aggressive monsters such as Bishaten are a possibility. If that happens, make sure to pick up the materials dropped by both!
