God Of War Ragnarok delayed until 2022

Ever since its official announcement last year, PlayStation fans have been waiting in anticipation to find out any snippet of news surrounding the release of God Of War Ragnarok, the next title from Sony’s Santa Monica Studio.

Today, fans did indeed get some news, but not the news they were hoping for, although it isn’t surprising, God Of War Ragnarok has been delayed until 2022.

In a statement posted on social media, Santa Monica Studio announced the delayed and explained why they have decided to push the game back until next year.

“Since the release of the next God of War teaser last year, we’ve been humbled by the amount of love our community has shown us. We’re incredibly grateful to see so many people excited to experience the next chapter of Kratos and Atreus’ journey.

We remain focused on delivering a top-quality game while maintaining the safety and wellbeing of our team, creative partners, and families. With this in mind, we’ve made the decision to shift our release window to 2022.

Thank you all for your continued support, we’ve got some exciting things in the works that we can’t wait to show you!”

The news of a delay isn’t that surprising as we have seen countless games be delayed over recent months due to the current-COVID 19 pandemic. Earlier this year we saw Ubisoft delay many of their titles, including Far Cry 6 and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake, so this delay just becomes another in a long line and likely won’t be the last.
