It was confirmed in late 2019 that future MLB The Show games could have the potential to come to platforms outside of PlayStation, despite being developed and published by Sony.

Unfortunately, MLB The Show 20 had been in development for too long to be able to port the game over to Xbox, but it looks like Xbox players won’t have too long to wait to play the most popular baseball game. The announcement trailer for MLB The Show 21 confirmed the game’s release date as well as the cover athlete Fernando “El Nino” Tatis Jr.

Cross-Play

It was also revealed that the game will feature cross-play between all platforms, a first for the franchise as it has previously only been available on PlayStation platforms, with no need for cross-play. There will also be cross-progression between platforms, so you can take the game on whichever platform and whichever generation you please.

Price

MLB The Show 21 will run you the usual $59.99 for last-gen versions of the game (PlayStation 4, Xbox One) and $69.99 for the current generation of consoles (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S.)
