We are just weeks away from the release of the upcoming Resident Evil VILLAGE and ahead of its launch, Capcom is hosting a brand new RE Showcase event.

The event will tease aspects of Resident Evil VILLAGE as well as give us a look at what to expect throughout the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series.

Resident Evil 4 VR Announced

During the recent RE Showcase event we got some very unexpected, but fantastic, news.

It has been revealed that a VR version of the smash-hit Resident Evil 4 will be coming sometime in 2021.

There will be a special Resident Evil 4 VR Oculus event taking place on April 21st where we will find out more details for RE4 VR as well as see some gameplay.

During the reveal it was announced that Facebook and Oculus were working on the title to bring it to Quest 2.

Its unclear at this time whether the game will be exclusive to Quest 2 or whether it’ll be available for all headsets, this will likely be revealed in the near future.

It has been rumoured for a while that Resident Evil 4 will be getting the remake treatment like we’ve seen with Resident Evil 2 and 3 in recent years.

Now that doesn’t look to be the case, or at least not yet, perhaps this is what Capcom have been working on instead.

Oculus Event

There will be a special Resident Evil 4 VR Oculus event on April 21st that will be viewable on Twitch and Facebook.

Gameplay Trailer

A new trailer for Resident Evil 8 was showcased, giving players a greater insight into what to expect, as well as the relationship between Ethan and the unnamed tall woman.

Release Date and Platforms

It was revealed that Resident Evil 8 will be available worldwide on May 7th 2021. It was also confirmed that the game will be coming to the last gen consoles, the PS4 and Xbox One. Capcom previously cancelled these versions due to hardware limitations.
