Titanfall 2 has seen its fair share of hacks and attacks over the years, with many groups targeting the game.

Earlier today, a tweet from a Titanfall 2 fan account was shared with a screenshot from a Discord message urging all players to uninstall or stay away from the game.

The recommendation was made to players across every platform the game is available on, with the game currently being available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with Titanfall 2 also being playable on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S via backward compatibility.

Although met with skepticism, further investigation revealed that the multiplayer servers had been infiltrated with hackers exploiting an ACE vulnerability.

This vulnerability allows hackers to execute files and programs without the authorization of the user in charge of the computer or console. Another tweet from the same user gave a concise explanation of how the exploit worked.

The Apex Legends and Titanfall 2 communities are no strangers to hacks and exploits in the two games. Earlier in the year, Apex Legends was hacked to the point where the game was unplayable and directed players to the website Savetitanfall.com.

This hack is far more sinister and dangerous to the end-user, and all recommendations are to not open the game until Respawn Entertainment makes a comment on the situation. The before-mentioned SaveTitanfall Twitter account made the same recommendation.

As of the time of writing, there has been no public comment by Respawn Entertainment on their Twitter page.

If the hack is proven to be genuine, or Respawn Entertainment responds then we will update this article with the latest news.

For now, we can’t recommend whether you should still play the game or not, do so at your own risk.
