Xbox announces new Xbox Academy program for UK students

The Xbox Game Development Workshop from Microsoft has announced a new program for UK students with interests in the video game industry with Xbox Academy. Xbox Academy was announced a while ago but different programs have been getting announced as these events have grown in both interest and resources.

Microsoft has announced that Xbox Academy’s newest program for UK students of grades 9 and 10 will give them the opportunity to hear directly from individuals with different careers and roles. These students will even be able to interact with these representatives.

This program will run from May 10-13th during Microsoft’s Work Experience Week with 4 representatives from Rare, the company most known for Sea of Thieves. Each representative from Rare will speak on their specific career within the industry from quality assurance, production, design, and engineering.

Representatives from ELAM and Into Games will also speak in later sessions of this program about other aspects of the gaming community. This entire event will be digital, as is the usual recently with events in place with large gatherings.
