‘Captain America 4’ announced after ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ finale
After a long six weeks of waiting day after day to see what comes next for Sam “Falcon” Wilson and Bucky “Winter Soldier” Barnes, we’ve finally come to the end of the line. The following contains spoilers for Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Falcon and the Winter Soldier
It looks like the Falcon and the Winter Soldier is no more, as Sam Wilson officially takes up the mantle of “Captain America” in the Season 1 finale of Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
After defeating Karli Morgenthau and (supposedly) the rest of the Flag Smashers, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes are ready to take on whatever’s next in Captain America and the Winter Soldier!

Captain America 4
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, “The head writer and show creator behind Disney+ and Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is developing a fourth installment of the Captain America film franchise for Marvel Studios. Spellman will co-write the script with Dalan Musson, a staff writer on Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”
While no additional casting has been announced for Captain America 4, it’s more than likely safe to assume that Anthony Mackie will return as Sam “Captain America” Wilson, alongside Sebastian Stan who will most likely return as Bucky “White Wolf” Barnes.
In Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we saw Captain America be treated as a “perfect soldier” as John Walker replaced Steve Rogers as America’s hero, but after being stripped of the title after murdering a member of the Flag Smashers in public, it’s great to finally see Sam take up the mantle after all this time.

My best guess is that we’ll see John “U.S. Agent” Walker make his return as a “big bad” in Captain America 4, alongside Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, or better known as “Madame Hydra.”
It’s currently unknown when Captain America 4 will release, but we’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled for any news about the upcoming MCU entry.
