As fans were preparing for Marvel’s Avengers first big expansion, War for Wakanda, to drop on Tuesday, Crystal Dynamics surprised everyone with the reveal of a new Captain America skin on Twitter.

The skin, as shown below, is Captain America’s second MCU-inspired outfit this time based on his looks in The Avengers.

Over the course of the year, Crystal Dynamics have been adding MCU outfits to Marvel’s Avengers centered around the heroes’ looks in Avengers: Endgame.

This reveal came as such a surprise to fans because no one expected more MCU costumes outside of the Endgame ones.

The new Captain America skin adds him to an exclusive group with Black Widow as the only characters to receive two MCU-based skins, Black Widow having received one based on her solo movie earlier this year.

Not only was this reveal surprising, but it also makes the future of Marvel’s Avengers even more exciting.

First, the developers seem to be fixing some of the game’s mistakes with the Wakanda expansion, and now they’ve opened the door for all past, present, and future MCU costumes to be added.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Crystal Dynamics handles MCU skins for their upcoming characters.

You would think that every character that Avengers shares with the MCU is going to be getting their own MCU skins, but will they be added at the same time as the characters or later down the line?

Black Panther joins the game on August 17, but his MCU skin has yet to be announced or revealed.

Spider-Man was announced to be joining the game for PlayStation players, but a release date was never given.

Captain Marvel has been heavily hinted at throughout the game’s story, but no official announcement has been released.

All of these characters have the potential to bring in Crystal Dynamics some extra money with the release of their MCU skins so surely they will be added, it’s just a matter of when.

The new Captain America skin will be available on August 17 along with the launch of War for Wakanda.
