Pokemon Go Galarian Slowpoke release, a very slow discovery event

Last Updated on: 5th June 2021, 08:28 pm

Pokemon Go is preparing Galarian Slowpoke to be released… slowly. It’ll be a very slow discovery with this rather unique Pokemon involved.

Yes, Galarian Slowpoke will be making its way into Pokemon Go in the next main event. Exciting times for those who enjoy a nap or three. And just wait till you see the raid list!

When does the Pokemon Go Galarian Slowpoke themed event start?

The A very vlow discovery event in Pokemon Go will start on the 8th of June at 10 AM local time, and then you’ll have until the 13th of June at 8 PM local time to finish up everything you want from the event.

This is a pretty standard duration for a full-size event, giving you a week of working days worth to get everything you want from it.

What’s the event about?

While the event is primarily focused on being the debut of Galarian Slowpoke, it is a fairly sizable deal even without that.

You can expect fresh Pokemon appearances in raids and a batch of newly boosted wild spawns too, both themed around Pokemon that are quite slow or quite active. On top of that, you can expect new slowpoke-themed avatar items, Field research, and an event-exclusive free box.

About Galarian Slowpoke in Pokemon Go

Galarian Slowpoke is the focus of this event, so it’s likely that the event-exclusive field research tasks will give you at least one of them as a reward at some stage, but if you can’t get through the tasks in time you’ll also be able to pick up a Galarian slowpoke via 1-star raids during the event.

If you’re a fan of evolution as opposed to collecting, you’ll need to capture 30 poison-type Pokemon while you have a Galarian Slowpoke set as your buddy to evolve it into Galarian Slowbro. Quite the task.

Galarian Slowking is hinting at arriving later in the event, but little else is known about that one for now.

A new raid?

Mega Slowbro is expected to be making its introduction to Pokemon Go during this event, as you might have guessed from the overall event theme. Some of the field research tasks during the event will reward Mega energy for it.

Anything else to this event?

A few small tidbits, but reading to this point you’re already aware of the biggest additions.
