Pokemon Go Solstice Event 2021

Last Updated on: 16th June 2021, 10:29 pm

Pokemon Go is back with another returning event, the Solstice event for 2021. You can expect to see Lunatone and Solrock among others.

The Solstice event in Pokemon Go will feature a slew of bonuses for all players, as well as some spawns and raids split between Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

When does the Pokemon Go Solstice event start?

The Solstice Event in Pokemon Go starts on the 17th of June at 10:00 AM local time. It’ll run until 8:00 PM local time on the 20th of June, so you’ve got a few days in total to manage everything you want to catch.

Local time is based on your timezone, if you’re not already familiar. So don’t worry about any timezone conversions.

What can we expect from the Pokemon Go Solstice Event?

This will depend on where in the world you are precisely, but some bonuses are shared for both halves. I’ll cover these first below, then move on to each Hemisphere with seperate sections.

What are the universal bonuses?

For starters, all players will find that their Buddies will find more gift and Poke ball items for the duration, they’ll also earn hearts for walking in half the usual distance.

As usual there’s also event research and event-specific snapshot photobombs to look forward to.

On top of this, all players will see some new Pokemon regardless of location, both in the Wild and in Raids.

Global Spawns

Note that in all spawn sections, I will mention if a Pokemon is NOT Shiny enabled. If there are no notes for that Pokemon, they are enabled as a shiny and will be findable as a Shiny during the Solstice event.

In the wild
  • Snorlax – Rare
  • Lunatone
  • Solrock
  • Spheal – No Shiny Available.
In raids
  • Lunatone
  • Solrock
  • Klink

Southern Hemisphere

As a reminder, I will mention if a Pokemon is NOT Shiny enabled. If there are no notes for a Pokemon provided, it should be enabled as a Shiny for the event.

In the Wild
  • Snorunt
  • Snover
  • Deerling (Winter) – Not Shiny enabled.
In Raids
  • Lapras
  • Piloswine – Not Shiny enabled.

Northern Hemisphere

In the Wild
  • Yanma
  • Chimchar
  • Deerling (Summer) – Not Shiny enabled.
In Raids
  • Alolan Marowak
  • Yanma
  • Petilil – Not Shiny enabled.

Is there anything else?

As you may have noticed from the lists above, several new Pokemon have been added to the shiny ranks. Or rather two Pokemon have been, and their evolved forms are assumed to be doing so as well.

Specifically the Pokemon with newly added shiny forms are Yanma and Snorunt, which naturally means Frosloss, Glalie and Yanmega should all be enabled as shiny with this event too.

In any anycase, that’s about all there is to know about the upcoming Solstice event for Pokemon Go, good luck finding those new Shinies trainers.
