Pokemon Go: Spoink Spotlight Hour September 2021
Pokemon Go is holding a Spotlight Hour for the Bounce Pokemon, Spoink! If you’ve been looking for this little psychic-type pig, here’s a great chance to capture plenty of them.
Even if you don’t particularly care about Spoink in Pokemon Go, you might be best off taking part in this event anyway, as the entire spotlight hour will also feature doubled stardust.
What can we expect from the Spoink spotlight hour?
For anyone who isn’t used to this particular Pokemon Go event type, Spotlight hours are basically a one-hour long event consisting of all spawns being replaced by a single Pokemon, in this case, that means Spoink. There is also typically an additional bonus.
The spawn replacing effects are quite similar to what you’d expect from a Community day, but Spotlight hours do not come with all the other extras, they are very simple affairs comparatively.
This is all great if you like Spoink, not so much if you’re not really a fan of the little psychic Pig Pokemon.
The event bonus can occasionally go some way to compensating for featured Pokemon that a trainer doesn’t want, and on this occasion, it does so pretty well. Doubled Stardust per capture is always a welcome bonus, simply because you always need more Stardust.

When is the Pokemon Go Spoink Spotlight hour?
The Spoink Spotlight hour for Pokemon Go will start on September 7th at 6:00 PM local time and will run as you might expect until 7:00 PM local time, for a total duration of one hour.
This is the usual length of spotlight hours as the name indicates, and exceptions to this are extremely rare if they ever occur.
Additionally, for those unfamiliar with Pokemon Go’s Local time, it means that you don’t need to worry about timezones because the game event will take place at that time in every timezone, so it’ll be a staggered out event launch across the world.
What else is there to know?
If you’re still not sold, there is one last thing to consider in favour of Spotlight hours. They make excellent chances in Pokemon Go to farm for the Shiny version of the featured Pokemon, in this case, Spoink.
Spoinks Shiny version is enabled as well, making it possible to find during the spotlight hour – good luck on the search trainers.
