Dune release date pushed back again by Warner Bros.

Denis Villeneuve’s retelling of Dune has been one of the most hotly anticipated movies of the last couple of years; Dune has had its release date shifted a few times now and Warner Bros has just decided to push it back even further. Here’s everything we know about what this means for Dune and when you can actually go and watch it.

Dune Gets A Third Release Date

Variety has reported that Dune has been pushed back from its’ October 1st, 2021, release date another three weeks by Warner Bros. This means it is expected to be released on October 22nd, 2021.

According to reports, this move isn’t the only one being made by Warner Bros. They’ve shaken up their release schedule across the board, with Cry Macho being moved to September 7th and The Many Saints of Newark taking Dune’s original slot on October 1st.

Despite the change in release date, Dune is still expected to be simultaneously released on HBO Max. Denis Villeneuve wasn’t a fan of this, as you can imagine, but Dune is still getting a limited theatrical run and is expected to appear on the Big Screen globally.

Dune, as you might already know, is a retelling of Frank Herbert’s classic science fiction novel of the same name. This one is only going to tackle the first half of the book though, with Warner Bros having confirmed a second movie will be on the way and a HBO Max prequel series is in development. Oscar Isaac, Zendaya, and Timothee Chalamet star alongside Josh Brolin, Bautista, and Rebecca Ferguson.
